Highlights of the Tour
01:Arrive at Trivandrum - Drive to Kovalam (15 Kms-30 Minutes)
Our representative will welcome you, on your arrival at the Trivandrum Airport. Thereafter, drive to Kovalam. Upon reaching, our representative will facilitate your transfer to the hotel in Kovalam. Relax at the hotel and enjoy a sumptuous lunch. In the evening go for a walk along the beaches or you can also opt for a relaxing Ayurvedic massage at the hotel / resort. Return for an overnight stay at the hotels In Kerala.
02: Kovalam - Sightseeing Tour to Thucklai town - Kovalam
On day 2 of the Kerala Backwater Holidays, enjoy a drive to Thucklai town after breakfast. Explore the Padmanabhapuram Palace & Archaeological museum. Thereafter, drive back to your Kovalam resort. Evening have fun at the Kovalam beach and enjoy a spectacular Kathakali dance performance at the beach. After dinner, relax at the hotel.
03: Kovalam - Varkala (57 Kms-01 Hrs)
Early morning after breakfast, depart for Varkala. On arrival take your beach resort at Varkala. Afternoon, visit the adjoining places like the old Vishnu temple and take a dip in the holy waters of Varkala. In the evening enjoy an ayurvedic and rejuvenation therapy at the resort. Stay overnight at the Hotel besides enjoying the best of traditional food.
04: Varkala - Kumarakom (110 Kms-02 Hrs)
Get ready after breakfast for your morning speed boat ride to Kumarakom. Reach and check-in to your pre-booked Backwater Resort. Evening, go for a leisurely evening walk along the beach. At dinner savor the tempting delicacies of Kerala. Relax at the resort for night.
05: Kumarakom
Enjoy an early morning bird tour to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is highly rich in its sheer scenic beauty. You can spot variety of colorful resident & migratory birds frolicking on the water bodies.
If you are a water sports buff, you can indulge in water sports such as windsailing & water skiing. You can even ride a canoe in the silent lakes. Then transfer to have Dinner and Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
06: Kumarakom - Periyar (128 Kms-02 Hrs)
Today early morning, after breakfast, head towards Periyar. On arrival take your jungle resort. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure activities. Overnight and dinner at the resort.
07: Periyar
On the 7th day of Kerala backwater tour set out for a wildlife safari in Periyar National Park. Afternoon, visit the local tribal villages around the districts. Buffet Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
08 and 09: Periyar - Kottayam - Backwater Tour
Today on the 8th day of your Kerala backwater tour drives to Kottayam, where you will get on board a houseboat for an overnight cruise. Dinner onboard.
10: Alleppey - Cochin (80 Kms-02 Hrs)
On reaching, our GHIJ representative will pick you up from the Alleppey boat jetty. Explore the temples and market area around the town. Post lunch, halt back to Cochin. On reaching the destination, you can make a short tour to the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, Chinese Fishing Nets. Evening enjoy a Kathakali dance show. Stay in the hotel for the last night of our trip.
11: Cochin
On the 11th day of Kerala backwater tour, fly back to your onward destination.
